Today, the MFC has named 90 players across the nation that have the potential to be named the best in the country. Not a surprise but definitely deserving of attention is UCLA Football‘s own sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen who has been named to the preseason watch list.
Rosen is already getting a lot of attention this off-season and being named to the Maxwell Award watch list helps solidify him as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation heading into 2016.
Already he has been named the best quarterback in the Pac-12 by Athlon Sports and was named to Phil Steele’s preseason All-America team. On top of that, he is also expected to compete for the Heisman Trophy, placing seventh in Bovada’s current odds.
Though the Bruins are in transition on offense as they move to a incorporate more power, lose RB Paul Perkins (a former Top Pac-12 running back) and have to replace three of their top receivers, Rosen has a solid roster of young talent that should help the Bruins improve off of their 8-5 2016 season.
This year it seems like the Bruins are destined to make a return to the Pac-12 Championship Game, but that all depends on how the team plays as a unit. Can Rosen and his offense consisting of only four starters returning help the UCLA Football team back to greatness?
