In Episode 97 of the ‘What’s Bruin Show’, we talk about the biggest college sports apparel deal in history as UCLA has signed with Under Armour.
In this latest episode, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I talk with LA Sports Hub writer Jamaal Artis about the biggest apparel deal in college sports as UCLA has spurned long-time supplier Adidias in favor of Under Armour.
The announcement was made Tuesday that UCLA and Under Armour have inked a 15-year deal worth $280 million. That is not only the largest in the nation, but the largest of all time.

We get into how this all came to fruition (the downfall of Adidas and their Zubaz) and what this means for both UCLA and Under Armour going into the future. One thing is for sure, it will be interesting to see how UA brands the UCLA name as well as how the Bruins will promote Under Armour.
We then talk to Go Joe Bruin recruitng specialist Michael Hanna about a few prospects on the Bruin’s radar. He also gives us his take on the UCLA-Under Armour deal and how it affects recruiting.
Artis then leads the return of the ‘LA Sports Express’ as he discusses with us the ‘Rise of LA Sports’. With Los Angeles getting an NFL team, a Super Bowl, a new soccer club and bidding for the Olympics (to name a few), the City of Angels has a bright future ahead of them.
