UCLA Women’s Basketball Are Heading To The Sweet Sixteen!
The UCLA Women’s Basketball team are Sweet Sixteen bound after defeating USF 72-67.
BOOM! The UCLA Women’s Basketball team have punched their ticket to the Sweet Sixteen and are heading to Bridgeport, Connecticut next week after defeating the University of South Florida on Monday night.
Make no mistake, this was an all-out battle between the Bruins and the South Florida Bulls despite the fact that UCLA had never trailed in this game. That did not mean that the USF Bulls were going quietly into the night.
The first half was all UCLA as they sprinted out to a 40-24 lead at halftime behind a huge second quarter.

The Bruins were hitting shots from all angles and were led by senior Nirra Fields who was instrumental in fronting the first half charge. Fields finished the game with 14 points, scoring 12 of them in the first half.
As far as the second half, sophomore Jordin Canada took control for the Bruins and helped thwart a massive USF comeback. With the Bulls charging full-speed at the Bruins, Canada single-handedly put the UCLA Women’s Basketball team on her back and fought through the late pressure by South Florida.
The Bulls had closed the gap to 2 points within the minute, but Canada kept them at bay hitting four crucial free throws (going 7-for-7 on the night) as she ended with a team-high 19 points.
