The UCLA football team got both good news and bad news today in regards to their secondary.
First the good news… Suspended cornerback Ishmael Adams has been reinstated by UCLA. It came out yesterday that Adams would not face felony charges stemming from a robbery that occurred the morning of August 31.
UCLA Bruins
Adams was said to have been in an altercation with an Uber driver in which Adams allegedly took the driver’s phone.
Upon hearing this news, UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora had indefinitely suspended Adams which resulted in missing all three non-conference games against Virginia, UNLV and BYU.
Now the bad news… The Bruins will be without the services of Fabian Moreau for the remainder of the season as he suffered a lisfranc injury last Saturday at the Rose Bowl against BYU.
How big is this loss? Seeing as how Moreau made the preseason Jim Thorpe Award watch list (given to the best defensive back in the country), this is a big deal.
In three games (really 2.5) Moreau has recorded 8 tackles, one pass deflection and one forced fumble.
Possible replacements for Moreau are Denzel Fisher, John Johnson and Colin Samuel.
RB Craig Lee is Gone
After a rough summer in which sophomore running back Craig Lee was supposed to be getting his grades in order, it came out today that he is no longer with team. The main issue, grades.
