The What’s Bruin Show brings you another special episode as What’s Bruin 2 covers the BYU and UCLA Football Game Review!
What’s Bruin 2 is back to review the latest UCLA Football game and this one was a doozy! In a thriller, the Bruins beat the BYU Cougars 24-23 in a game that went down to the wire. Yes indeed, this was definitely a heart-stopper but the Bruins pulled it out behind a great running game from Paul Perkins.

We all knew that this was going to be a big test for UCLA, but we did not think it would be that big. In our last podcast, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I had all predicted the Bruins would win, but the collective perception was that it would be by more than 10 points. Boy were we wrong.
This game was intense. From Josh Rosen‘s 3 interceptions to Tanner Magnum’s 244 passing yard performance to Myles Jack‘s game saving interception, this was by no means a boring contest.
Sure, it would have been nice for the Bruins to have a stronger start, but we are just glad that they figured out how to finish the game and win and in the end, that is all you can ask for.
So in this special episode we briefly talk about The Game That Was and look at the Bruin offense, defense and examine what a game like this means for UCLA Football going forward. We even have a little bit of Pac-12 talk as we look across town at the epic fail that was USC losing to Stanford.
“I have to say it was a good day.”
