UCLA football and Adidas unveiled the Bruins new alternate uniforms today, which are very reminiscent of the new regular season uniforms announced last month.

With the coming of the new college football season also comes the unveiling of new alternate uniforms. This morning UCLA football unveiled new all black alternate uniforms by Adidas.
Adidas also supplied practice shirts for the new uniforms which are in the same black, blue and gold patterns (and likely available in some form or fashion at Ackerman Union for a less than reasonable price).Take a gander:
Just like the new regular uniforms, these alternates are shiny and sport a subdued web pattern. The gold numbers and blue and gold stripes really pop off the all black jerseys. If you remember alternate uniforms of the recent past (LA Steel and LA Midnight – see tweet below for a composite pic), you’ll see the style is pretty similar.
The main difference other than the new web pattern is the bold gold numbers instead of the blue and gold striped numbers on the previous uniforms.
For those that are fans of podcasts, you may know that these uniforms were coming. A few months ago UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora joined Bruin Report Online’s BROCast and revealed that the alternates would be black with blue and gold trim that would “pop”.
When will these new uniforms be worn? At this point we can only guess, but we can assume it will be a night game on a big network. A likely date would be the Thursday night home game against the Cal Golden Bears on October 22 (6PM Kickoff, ESPN).
Go Bruins!
