T.J. Leaf, the 5-star power forward that recently de-committed from Arizona, has UCLA Basketball among the eight teams he has trimmed his list to after opening up his recruitment.
There has been a lot of speculation that the #13 player in the nation, T.J. Leaf, would some how connect with the UCLA basketball team after he de-committed from Arizona last week. 247Sports.com had reported that not only was Leaf de-committing, but was looking at UCLA as a possible destination. Part of that deal may include pulling Bruin point guard Bryce Alford‘s scholarship, who is the son of head coach Steve Alford.

Today it was confirmed that UCLA is indeed one of the favorites among Leaf’s Top 8.
Included on the list with UCLA is
Cal
,
Gonzaga
,
Indiana
,
Kansas
,
Kentucky
,
San Diego State
and
Texas
. Expect these schools (as well as several others) try to in Leaf’s ear and commit to their program. Though it is a long time away from National Signing Day, as of right now, 247Sports has UCLA Basketball as the current favorite.
There are several reasons for Leaf to choose UCLA. Not only is his AAU team, the Compton Magic, a feeder to the Bruins, but current UCLA commit Ike Anigbogu is his AAU teammate. Additionally, the Magic are an Adidas team, which is currently contracted with UCLA. On top of that, with Leaf being from the San Diego area, he would stay local.
