The Pac-12 leading rusher from the 2014 season, Paul Perkins of UCLA Football, has been named to the Doak Walker Award watch list which honors the top running back in the nation for his achievements both on and off the field.

UCLA Bruins
As you have read in my recent posts about several UCLA football players being named to several preseason award watch lists, you know that the Bruins are stacked and full of talent going into the 2015 season.
One of the more exciting figures on the team that we cannot wait to see is junior running back Paul Perkins who was just named to the Doak Walker Award watch list that recognizes “the nation’s premier running back for his accomplishments on the field, achievement in the classroom and citizenship in the community.”
Last season, Perkins led the entire Pac-12 Conference in rushing as he finished the year with 1,575 total yards, 9 touchdowns and averaged 121.2 ypg.
With QB Brett Hundey off to the NFL and the Bruins yet to name a starting quarterback, Perkins will not only be essential to the office but should be the main focus. Last season, with the help of Perkins, UCLA was second in the Pac-12 in rushing yards behind Oregon. UCLA football looks to build off that achievement this season with not only a seasoned Perkins, a deep receiver roster, but also the most experienced offensive line in the nation.
That is a lot to get excited for.
This is the second preseason honor Perkins received as he was also named to the Maxwell Award watch list which is given to the top college football player in the nation.
Stay with Go Joe Bruin as we continue to watch for more Bruins on watch lists!
