It is over three months until the 2015 college football season begins and we already have several predictions about the forthcoming season. That includes award watch lists and today UCLA Football center Jake Brendel was a part of that as he was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list which is given to the nation’s top center.

It is no surprise that Brendel has made the list for this prestigious honor as he has been the anchor of a team that has improved in the three years he has been a Bruin. It is also no coincidence that the offensive line has improved in the time that head coach Jim Mora has been in charge of the program as well as hiking the ball to former UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley.
Though this will be the first time in three years Brendel will be snapping the ball to someone other than Hundley, he should do very well next season as the leader of one of the best offensive lines in the Pac-12.
UCLA may not name a starter at quarterback until the first game of the season, which is against Virginia at the Rose Bowl on September 5, but the Bruins will have a solid, dependable O-line led by the experienced soon-to-be senior.
Brendel has started every game he has played as a Bruin. In the last three years, he has only missed one game due to injury as he sat out the 2014 season opener at Virginia.
