UCLA Falls To #16 In The Latest AP Poll

It was inevitable that UCLA (9-3, 6-3) would fall in the latest polls after their 38-10 loss to the Stanford Cardinal. Because they were taken apart at every turn by the underachieving and unranked former Pac-12 Champions, the Burins fell seven spots in the polls. UCLA had also fallen to #17 in the coaches polls, though those rankings may be obsolete in the age of the College Football Playoffs.

More from UCLA Bruins Football

The Bruins missed a golden opportunity to rise in the rankings as both Georgia and Mississippi State also lost and plummeted down the polls themselves. If UCLA won, they could have possibly moved into the #6 spot, but due to the loss, they unfortunately move backward. In addition, the loss also eliminated them from winning the South Division and participating in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Oregon. Instead, Arizona will will have that honor as they head to Levi’s Stadium on Friday to face the Ducks after they defeated in-state rival Arizona State.

The Bruins now have to wait to see how the entire college football landscape shakes out to find out what bowl they will play in. Speculation right now has the Bruins heading to either the Holiday Bowl in San Diego on December 27 or the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on January 2.

Though it is a tough pill to swallow, the show must go on. UCLA football has one more game before the season is officially over. Though it will be just about a week before we find out exactly where the Bruins will play, stay patient Bruin fans and while you are at it, stay with Go Joe Bruin on any new information regarding all things UCLA football.
