The UCLA Bruins are getting a bit of love from the AP Poll this week as they have moved up three spots to #11 on a bye week. Whether you think it is a make up for earlier in the season or a proper placement due to the shake up in last week’s Top 10, there is no denying that these Bruins are one of the more well-oiled machines in college football right now. UCLA also moves up to #12 in the Coaches Poll.

Critics around the country seem to think that UCLA has finally come into their own in the last few weeks as not only the AP Poll listed them 11th, but this past Tuesday, the College Football Playoff Committee released their rankings that also had the Bruins as the 11th best team in the nation.
That was not the case earlier in the year as UCLA twice dropped in the polls after wins in Weeks 1 and 2. Despite some poor play to start the season, the Bruins still won. Maybe the pollsters are making up for that, but ultimately it seems that this is where UCLA should be, especially after a weekend of college football where #1 Mississippi State, #7 Arizona State, #9 Auburn and #11 Nebraska all lost. There was bound to be some wiggle room towards the top and UCLA has benefitted from that this week.
The AP Poll Top 25:

Aside from the Bruins, other Pac-12 teams moved around in the poll and did a good job of lining up the 2-loss teams in the South Division. With their loss to Oregon State, ASU became the fourth Pac-12 South team with two losses. With UCLA beating both ASU and Arizona, you can see how they are appropriately stacked up amongst each other. Pac-12 North Division winner Oregon remains at #3.
UCLA has a critical game at the Rose Bowl next weekend as they face crosstown rival USC with the South Division on the line. Stay with Go Joe Bruin as we will be bringing you information on the game all this week.
