UCLA Has Dropped Out Of The AP Top 25 For The First Time Since 2012

After two disastrous home game games at the Rose Bowl where UCLA football lost to then unranked Utah and yesterday got routed by then #12 Oregon Ducks 42-30, the Bruins find themselves outside of the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2012. The Bruins were ranked as high as #7 this season, which came in the Preseason AP Poll.

More from UCLA Bruins Football

Just two weeks removed from being in the Top 10, the Bruins had two subpar performances by two teams that, at this point, are in much better shape than the Bruins. Against Utah, the Bruin offensive line was brutalized by the dominant Ute defensive front. Against Oregon, the Bruins had several chances to stay in the game but fell short. One of the more glaring weaknesses was that fact that UCLA was able to start possessions off with good drives, but could not convert them into points as they had a massive amount of trouble finishing those drives.

Not only that, but there was a myriad of problems that haunted the Bruins, which included their head coach Jim Mora and Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to get into a screaming match on the sideline.

Although Mora and Ulbrich have cleared the air and taken responsibility for their actions, it does not remedy the problems that the once highly-touted program is facing as the are now on the outside looking in on the 25 best teams in college football.
