Phil Steele is a football analyst that writes a highly respected magazine every college football preseason. Phil Steele’s College Football Preview is a highly detailed magazine covering the majority of top tier college football. Today, Steele released his four All-America teams based on offense, defense in special teams. UCLA’s own Myles Jack and Eric Kendricks made it on the First Team Defense and Fourth Team Defense, respectively.

Last season Jack, was named Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the year. He was not only a beast on the defense, but late in the season when UCLA had to utilize some extra runners due to injury, Jack came through with several incredible feats that lead him to 7 touchdowns off 269 yards.

Kendricks was silent beast in the UCLA linebacking corps. With Jack, Anthony Barr and Jordan Zumwalt getting most of the attention, Kendricks quietly, but ferociously lead all Bruins with 62 solo tackles and 106 total. To add to that, he had four tackles for a loss, two sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.

More from UCLA Bruins Football

With UCLA expected to go far this season, several Bruins were not named to his coveted list. Brett Hundley, especially, did not make it as an All-American quarterback for any of his four teams. Yet, Steele (surprisingly) selected three USC Trojans to his list: WR Nelson Agholor (1st team), DL Leonard Williams (1st team), LB Hayes Pullard (2nd team) and S Su’a Cravens (4th team). But do not worry Bruins fans, despite his accuracy in predicting many facets of college football, he does seem to have several misses.

Last season he chose USC to win the Pac-12 South, WITH Lane Kiffin in charge. Here was the order of his predicted finish for the 2013 Pac-12 Conference:

North: 1. Oregon, 2. Stanford, 3. Oregon State, 4. Washington, 5. Washington State, 6. Cal

South: 1. USC, 2. Arizona State, 3. UCLA, 4. Arizona, 5. Utah, 6. Colorado

You can’t predict them all.
