UCLA Women’s Basketball Completes the Michigan Sweep
The #9 UCLA Women’s Basketball team took out the Michigan Wolverines, 84-64, a day after their male counterparts did the same.
It was a Michigan sweep in Pauley Pavilion this weekend as the UCLA Women’s Basketball team fulfilled their end of the bargain a day after the men beat Michigan.
The women obliterated the Lady Wolverines in this game as they dominated every quarter but the last. By then, the Bruins had built up such a lead, that they could afford to pull back on the reins.
UCLA jumped out to a 14-0 lead, which set the tone for the game. That led to a 25-10 first quarter advantage on their way to a halftime lead of 45-25.

After the half, the Bruins kept their foot on the gas which resulted in all five starters scoring in double-digits. Forward Monique Billings led all scores with 19 points which was part of a double-double with 16 rebounds (which she obtained by halftime).
Jordin Canada got into the double-double game as she added 16 points and 14 assists. Kellie Hayes (16), Kennedy Burke (12), Kari Korver (11), Paulina Hersler (5) and Nicole Kornet (5) rounded out the Bruins’ final point total.
The Bruins now move to 7-1 on the season. They have three games remaining in the non-conference (UC Santa Barbara, #6 South Carolina and North Carolina A&T) and it will surely test them as all three are on the road.
