The UCLA Basketball team just received another addition to their 2017 class as the #4 small forward in the nation (#1 in the midwest) 5-star Kris Wilkes has committed to the Bruins.
Boom x5! That is right Bruin fans, the UCLA Basketball team as just landed their 5th commitment to the 2017 class as 5-star 6’8″, 190 lbs. small forward Kris Wilkes (Indianapolis, IN/North Central HS) has pledged to play in Westwood.
Along with UCLA, Wilkes had Illinois and Indiana in his final three.
Wilkes is the second 5-star (per Scout.com) to commit to UCLA. Point guard Jaylen Hands will also be bringing his talents to UCLA next season. They will be joined by 4-star C Jalen Hill and PF Cody Riley and 3-star SG LiAngelo Ball.
Wilkes is an amazing athlete that is long and athletic. He can drive the lane and also shoot the ball from outside. He is also pretty amazing working around the rim. With the UCLA Basketball team under Head Coach Steve Alford going to a hyper-tempo style of play, Wilkes would be a solid contributor next season.
With Wilkes’ commitment, UCLA could take the top spot in several recruiting class rankings. As of now, UCLA has the #5 2017 class in the nation, according to Scout.com.
