ESPN has announced their opening weekend schedule for the 2016 college football season and the UCLA Football team, who takes on Texas A&M, is not among the listed.

Do not set your DVRs to ESPN, UCLA Football fans! If you are going to watch UCLA Vs. Texas A&M, it looks like it will be on a station other than the four-letter network.

ESPN announced their schedule for the opening weekend of the 2016 college football season, which will be aired on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2. Games will be played from Thursday, September 1 to Monday, September 5.

On the first Saturday, all three stations will be playing games starting at 4:30 am PT as Georgia Tech and Boston College battle it out in Dublin, Ireland to Clemson at Auburn at 6:00 pm that night.

USC vs.. Alabama at AT&T Stadium will be in primetime at 5:00 pm. For the full schedule, click HERE.

So unless changes are made before opening weekend, it appears that the UCLA-Texas A&M game will not be on any of ABC/Disney’s stations.

The other options for coverage could come from CBS, Fox Sports, the Pac-12 Network and the SEC Network. Potentially, this could be a match-up between two Top 25, Power 5 teams, so this will be a big draw for which ever network picks it up.

With ESPN completing their schedule, other networks can now set up their game listing and times. Currently, the kickoff time for UCLA-Texas A&M has not yet been set.

In determining the kickoff time, the other factor that has to be taken into consideration by the network that airs this game is that the average high in College Station at that time of year is 91 degrees. Hopefully this prompts an afternoon start so it is not completely unbearable at kickoff. But just in case, bring a hat.
