The Bruins were passed over for the NCAA Tournament last season, but subsequently won the championship in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament. This year, the Bruins are not only punching their ticket to the Big Dance, but are doing it with some authority.

After beating Washington State and Washington (in which the Bruins came back from 17 down), the UCLA Women’s Basketball team continued to climb the ranks in the Associated Press Top 25 as they came in at #12 this week. But hold on Bruin fans, it gets better!

The NCAA Women’s Committee voted the Bruins #10 in their rankings for the month of February, per NCAA.com. With impressive wins over ranked teams like Stanford and Oregon State, as well as boasting a 19-6, 11-3 record, the Bruins are turning heads, especially from those that count the most.

The UCLA Women’s Basketball team are currently two games out of first place behind #7 Oregon (22-3, 13-1) State and #9 Arizona State (22-4, 13-1), and as luck would have it, UCLA plays these two teams in their final two weeks of the regular season.

This weekend the Bruins head to the Oregon schools in their last road trip of the season before ending the year at home the following week against the Arizona schools.

Needless to say, if they can win the majority of their remaining games, we could see a Pac-12 regular season championship coming to Westwood, which would be the perfect follow up to last year’s WNIT Championship.

GO BRUINS!
