Time And TV Set For UCLA’s Next Two Games Against Utah And Oregon

UCLA football is finally returning to the Rose Bowl after nearly a month away. In the next two weeks, the Bruins return home to face two opponents that are sure to push them to the limit. We have known that the beginning of October was set for match-ups against Utah and Oregon, but it was not known when kickoff would be or where audiences could see until the last two days. Well now they are set and there is a little bit of controversy with each.

Utah has been on fire to start the season, but that flame was extinguished in the second half of the game against Washington State. Now instead of a meeting of the unbeatens, Utah will come into the Rose Bowl with something to prove and try not to go 0-2 to start conference play. Aside from that, there was a lot of fervor in Twitterverse about this game being another late kick-off, but think about this, if the game started earlier than 7:30 p.m., many fans on the east side of the stadium would be boiling under the hot Pasadena sun as it is expected to reach a high of 100*.

Good move Pac-12 or whoever was in charge of this decision.

This game caused a lot of fury today when it was released that not only would it be a prime time game (which would set it at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET), but that one of the more highly anticipated Pac-12 games of the season would also not be on ESPN, meaning there would also be no College Gameday. To make matters worse, it was thought that the game would be on cable station Fox Sports 1, but luckily, it has been confirmed that it will be nationally broadcast on Fox.

The concerns are there for Pac-12 football fans, but ultimately, it does not matter what station the games are on as the Bruins have to play two tough teams in consecutive weeks. Either way…

Go Bruins!
