With the recent craze of rebranded, updated and alternate uniforms, Bryan Fischer of College Football 24/7 did a piece for NFL.com in which he compiled a list of some of the best and most stylish looking uniforms. UCLA’s sleek and innovative ‘L.A. Midnight’ unis, which they wore against Washington at home and against Virginia Tech in the Sun Bowl, had made the Vogue-esque list of the top gridiron fashions in college football.
Fischer says that UCLA’s traditional “powder blues
of the Bruins are one of college football’s top uniforms over the years”, but in regards to the the all black alternatives, these uniforms with the blue and shiny gold trim really stood out amongst some of the top apparel in college football. They were first introduced against the University of Washington at the Rose Bowl for a night game, which really made them pop, especially with the complimentary purple of the Huskies. Take a look for yourself…

It is no secret that the Bruins are on the alternate uniform bandwagon and having these trendsetters available to them, not only made them look good on the field, but made those wearing them about town (if you happened to collect one for yourself) look good as well. It also helps erase the memory of the first alternates UCLA wore which we will not get into… at all. Still, with Adidas working overtime to bring the Bruins some new and flashy threads, you can guarantee that this trend will continue through the years. Now what will UCLA have in store for their fans this year?
