UCLA will open up the NCAA tournament with a matchup against No. 16 Cal Baptist, as they look to make a run for a national title. This Bruins team is built to win at all this year, and they will get their journey started next Saturday at Pauley Pavilion. Although Cal Baptist is playing good basketball right now on a six-game winning streak, which included winning their tournament. UCLA has a far more talented team and they’re going to be heavy favorites to run away with this game.

Cal Baptist has a good back court that includes freshman standout Lauren Olsen who leads the team at 15.1 points per game this year. They also have a do it all guard in Filipa Barros who is the best rebounding guard in the nation at 10 rebounds per game. She averages 11.2 points, 10 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. She is a threat to go for a triple double on any given night.
Just a wild stat line to start the season through four games for Cal Baptist's Filipa Barros:

8.5 PPG
12.0 RPG
5.3 APG
5.8 SPG
The Lancers are a very interesting team at 4-0.
The positive is the Bruins are one of the best defenses in the nation. They’re known for taking out teams, best players, and forcing other others to beat them. So, you know they will key in on Olsen and Barros. Leading to them running away with this game before matching up with either Oklahoma State or Princeton in the second round. The Bruins will need to continue to play consistent basketball on both ends as the games get tougher.
UCLA proved they meant business in the Big Ten title game. As they went out and beat Iowa by 51 points and set a record for a title game. Winning by a final score of 96-45 and passing their last test before the NCAA tournament. With the team, not having to travel at all to open up the tournament. It cannot be stressed enough, how much that will help them later on. As they have had a grueling, travel schedule playing in the Big Ten across the country as a West Coast team.
