UCLA capped off a second straight Big Ten tournament title on Sunday. As they demolished the Iowa Hawkeyes by 51 points with a final score of 96-45. The Bruins jumped out to a 22-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and then just coasted from there. Putting together an absolute dominating clinic on both offense and defense. They shot 63.5% from the floor and 50% from 3-point range. While absolutely clamping on the defensive end holding Iowa to 27.9% shooting and 21.7% from 3-point range.

The Bruins total record for the year is 31-1 as they head towards the NCAA tournament guaranteed to get a No. 1 seed. Their lone blemish on the year was the Texas game where they struggled in that one and battled a Lauren Betts injury. That was a turning point for them as they have now turned it into a 24-game winning streak. The Bruins had six players score in double digits on the day. They also got their best effort of the season from future lead player Sienna Betts. She was 7-8 from the field for 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
The team is playing with tremendous chemistry, and the additions of Giana Kneepkens and Charlisse Leger-Walker have been perfect. The women have five players who can play both ends of the floor that is very rare to find and gives them their best opportunity to win a championship. They know UCONN will eventually stand in their way if they want to get to that national championship. Their offense doesn’t match the Huskies so the defense will be the calling card.

Angela Dugalić also had a good game across the board off the bench with seven points, seven rebounds and five assists. She will be one of the Bruins top six graduating out. Kneepkens capped off her great season for the Bruins with four more 3-pointers. Which put her up to a total of 76 on the season. Her grand total of 320 career 3-point field goals is good for 95th in NCAAW history. The Bruins will now head to the NCAA tournament for one last dance with this team.
