Charlisse Leger-Walker transferred to UCLA last season after being one of the top scorers ever in Washington State history. She played four years there beginning in 2020 and got an extra year of eligibility due to the Covid rule. After setting out last season due to an injury. She came back this season as a starter for UCLA giving the team an experienced player that could play both ends of the floor. Adding to an elite defense and providing a good passer on offense. She also hit the 2,000 point club along with Gianna Kneepkens on Sunday.

Leger-Walker didn’t need the score of the basketball with UCLA as you did at Washington State. She was a very volume type scorer with the Cougars. She took a lot of shots to get a lot of points. With UCLA she has seen her efficiency go up tremendously. Shooting 45.5% from the floor for the Bruins while only shooting 38.2% for Washington State for four years. She also improved her 3-point shooting almost 5% up to 35.2%.
Leger-Walker averaged 16.6 points per game with Washington State. At UCLA she is down to 8.6 points per game. But her impact on a nightly basis is much more. She leads the Bruins with 5.7 assists per night. Even though Kiki Rice is the main point guard on the team. By being more of a pastor, it has allowed her to open up her offensive game much more. Leaving her with more space out on the floor and being able to create for her teammates. While averaging 1.6 steals per game on defense.
With her final dime of the day, Charlisse Leger-Walker joined the 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣-career assist club! 🪙

Leger-Walker may be on the outside looking in for the first round of the WNBA Draft. But with a strong finish, it is very possible that she can make her way into it. Setting a record that UCLA could have their entire starting lineup in the first round of the draft. The team has been that good this season as they look to finish with their first national championship. Even though she only played for UCLA for one season, her impact has been greatly noticed and will continue to be in the Big Ten and NCAA tournament.
