Last week we wrote about Addy Brown’s visit to UCLA and help her veteran. Leadership would be great for this team. Yesterday, they received commitment that Brown would transfer to UCLA. This is a big-time addition to this roster by Cori Close, as the team continues to put together a nice roster. One that has a good mix of older players and younger players. As they try and replace six players that went to the WNBA.

Brown will have one year of eligibility remaining and will pair with Timea Gardiner as the seniors to lead. Brown has been a very productive college player with 89 games of experience. She has career averages of 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Doing it all on the floor at the point forward position. Providing good size at 6’2 and being able to operate very smoothly with the ball.
Brown had an off year last year, shooting the 3-point shot as she shot 33.8% on 3.5 attempts per game. But she has shown that she can make that shot consistently in college. As a freshman three years ago she shot 38.8% on 4.1 attempts per game. Close does a very good job at designing plays and should be able to unlock that weapon again. Which will help space this UCLA offense very well.
When it was reported that Addy Brown was visiting UCLA earlier, I expanded on how natural of a fit Addy and her play-style would be there

She will immediately be an important starter entrenched at the forward spot because of her ability to score & create pic.twitter.com/nsUJ3Xd2HA https://t.co/dZveDB6QFE
Brown is a flat out play maker and we’ll have plenty of opportunities to operate the UCLA offense. Last season she only played in 21 games due to a lower body injury. But whenever she was in the lineup, she was a threat to go for a triple double every game. That unique skill set shows she will be on WNBA Draft radars as well in 2027. She found the perfect spot after watching UCLA break a record at the 2026 WNBA Draft with players selected.
