UCLA dropped their contest to Minnesota today by a score of 78-73. As the Bruins move to 19-10 on the year. With an NCAA tournament appearance still at stake, UCLA now has Nebraska on the schedule at home. Which will be a tough matchup since the Cornhuskers are 25-4 on the season and the No. 12 team in the nation. It is one of two games left this season, with the Bruins heading to play USC and their final matchup of the season. UCLA is looking to get to the 20-win mark and strengthen their resume.

This was a lopsided game. One that featured the Bruins struggling to get offense outside of three players. Tyler Bilodeau led the way with 32 points. Followed by Eric Dailey Jr. with 18 points and Skyy Clark with 17 points. Those three players alone scored 67 of the 73 points on the day. Not something you want to see out of an offense and become so heavily reliant on certain players. The other six points was three apiece by Jamar Brown and Donovan Dent.
It was a disappointing day by Trent Perry, who has been the Bruins best player over the last two months. He had zero points on the day and was 0-7 from the field. Never looking comfortable on the offensive end. UCLA did shoot 50.9% from the field and 41.7% from 3-point range. But ultimately it was not enough as they couldn’t get enough offense outside of the three leading scorers. The Bruins only got to the free-throw line six times on the day as well.
UCLA had been playing good defense coming into this game. But they had many lapses that led to their five-point loss. Which included 58% shooting from the field for Minnesota and a blistering 52.2% from 3-point range. Minnesota also only had four players score on the day. Bobby Durkin had 23 and then Cade Tyson and Langston Reynolds each had 21. So, both teams struggled for offense outside of three players. Minnesota just did it better in the end.
