Tyler Bilodeau is putting up one of the most efficient seasons in college basketball this year. He is averaging 19 points per game on 54.8/46.7/92.9 shooting splits for the season. Which is headlined by a 34-point effort against UC Riverside on Tuesday. Bilodeau is doing all of this on a 63.3 eFG% as well. The only player in the nation averaging at least 18 points per game that has been more efficient is Kory Mincy of George Mason. Mason is averaging 18.1 points per game on 50.4/48.5/96.2 shooting splits.

Bilodeau returning has made the UCLA offense operate at a high level. In his six games since being back from injury, UCLA has averaged 87.2 points per game. Highlighted by a 108 point effort against Cal Poly. They have also scored at least 90 points in the last three games. A mark that they had not passed until the Arizona State game. Bilodeau’s absence played a big role in a dip in the offensive production. As seen in the Cal game where UCLA couldn’t cover as 8.5-point favorites, losing 80-72.

There was expected to be a growth in Bilodeau’s game as he became a senior this season. But the rapid pace that he is doing it at, is jaw dropping. He shot 71.7% from the free throw line last year on 2.8 attempts per game. He is now shooting almost double that per game at 5.1 per game. While also raising his free throw percentage over 20% to 92.9%. Bilodeau has always been a good floor spacer but he has now become elite going from 40% to 46.7% from 3-point range.

Bilodeau is more than capable of carrying the offensive load. He was the leading score for the Bruins last year and has continued that this year. His efficiency is off the charts, and he will be very integral for this season and UCLA’s Big Ten and March hopes. He is well on pace for a 50/40/90 season and if he continues on this track, NBA Draft talks will intensify. Bilodeau has earned it all and still has half the season to build his resume even more.
