Tyler Bilodeau missed a few games earlier this season with an injury. But when he has played, he has been the Bruins best player this season. So much to the tune that he is on pace for a possible 50/40/90 shooting splits. That is a coveted mark in college and NBA. He has provided space for the UCLA offense as well as showing his back to the basket strengths. It was expected that he was going to take a leap this season, he has so far exceeded any expectations upon him. So far he is averaging 16.6 points on a shooting line of 52.3/40.6/88.2.

Bilodeau has really seen a bump in his game as he moved back to his natural position. It was talked about much of last season that he was playing center. Due to UCLA going with a three-guard set. Now he is back at power forward and is able to conserve energy. Playing the center position will tire you out pretty quickly having to guard the post. Xavier Booker and Steven Jamerson II came in to handle those duties. Allowing Bilodeau to play more freely and guard other 4’s.

Bilodeau was seen as potential to be a second-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft at the beginning of the season. He is definitely working his way into draft considerations with his play. UCLA is still a work in progress, but they have cleaned up some areas from the beginning of the season. Now they will need to put it all together. Bilodeau returning has helped shore up some areas on offense that seemed stagnant.

UCLA flamed out in the round of 32 last season when they struggled in their matchup with Tennessee. This season has much more hope and expectations to go farther into the March brackets. Bilodeau will be a large part of that as he is the Bruins leading scorer. He is averaging 19.7 points per game over the last three games since he returned. Keeping up that level of play while on the shooting lines that he has and UCLA will be in business.
