Trent Perry is the most talented player left on the Bruins roster after Donovan Dent and Tyler Bilodeau graduated out. Now UCLA will see if Perry will return for another season in 2026. Over the years we have seen many players that we believed would return to UCLA go onto the NBA. Such as Peyton Watson who didn’t get much playing time at UCLA his freshman year but has become a very good NBA player. Could Perry after his breakout season make that decision to test the waters?

There is also a chance that Perry could find his talents could be best used with another college. With the NIL era now upon us, there are so many colleges that are willing to pay top dollar to bring in talent. Perry will only continue to elevate higher and higher, and his game will get better. UCLA will definitely have to compete with other schools to be able to keep him in Westwood.
Perry returning to UCLA would help Mick Cronin tremendously. As he would definitely be there number one scoring option. Pair that in with possibly Skyy Clark gaining another year of eligibility and that is a good duo to work around. Eric Dailey Jr. should be back as well for his senior season to help with scoring and defense. UCLA will have a 31-point gap to fill with Dent and Bilodeau heading out and that is a large amount.

“This tournament, I didn’t perform … I’m very hard on myself, but rightfully so.”
When asked about next year, he added: “I’m not really gonna talk about the future … just soak this one in and go from there.” pic.twitter.com/kPAf5WOERs
Perry is a very talented player that can score the basketball in large chunks. He got a great opportunity to start with UCLA after the Clark injury. He made the most of it and never looked back. Going from a bench spark plug to one of the most important players on the team. UCLA will hope to get him back for 2026 and continue to build a new roster. That will include possible transfer portal additions and a big-time recruit in Joe Philon.
