Trent Perry figures to be the go-to scorer for the UCLA Bruins in 2026. He will be relied upon to pick up more of a scoring load than in 2025. With Skyy Clark, Tyler Bilodeau and Donovan Dent all gone. That is almost 43 points of the UCLA offense that needs to be replaced. The Bruins were able to go out and get some complementary pieces this offseason. But they were not able to get another legit scoring option in the likes of John Blackwell.
UCLA point guard Trent Perry has signed a deal to return to the Bruins, per his reps at @MomentousSP. He projects as UCLA’s primary point guard next year, after averaging 12.6 points per game this year. He’s a former McDonald’s All-American and former Top 30 recruit. pic.twitter.com/XwQ4nOlutN

Therefore, Perry will need to score 20 points per night. He is more than capable of doing that, but UCLA still needs to try and find one more piece in the transfer portal. That can come from a player like Tounde Yessoufou who remains one of the best players available. UCLA will also rely on Jaylen Petty and Azavier Robinson to provide some backcourt scoring as transfers.
Perry was the top player that UCLA brought back. Out of everyone on the roster, he was the one that you wanted back. He took a big leap his sophomore year, and once he entered the starting lineup, he never looked back. Becoming the top scoring option for the Bruins with Bilodeau battling injuries. Perry has NBA type talent and with the way he can score will be a draft prospect very soon.

We expect a big season out of Perry in 2026. But we would like to see another player come in to help with scoring. Eric Dailey Jr. and Xavier Booker should be able to up their scoring a little bit. But replacing 43 points per game is not easily done. Three to five points extra by players doesn’t fill that gap. They need another player that can get them at least 15 points on a nightly basis.
