Trent Perry came into his sophomore year this season expecting to play a significant role. Last year as a freshman he played very sparingly. Only getting about 11 minutes per night, often providing a spark plug defensively. He is a high energy player that battles hard and something that Mick Cronin likes in him. His shot struggled as a freshman as he only shot 36.9% from the floor and 34.3% from 3-point range. He has shown this season that an offseason of hard work has paid off.
Perry is shooting 50.7% from the floor now and 39.3% from 3-point range. While being the number one option off the bench for Cronin. He is also continuing to be a plus defender and at 6β4 can matchup with guards and forwards. That is versatility that Cronin has always enjoyed in his players. He is the perfect Bruins mold. The bench has been hit or miss this year, and Perry will need to be the number one option. Along with contributions from Jamar Brown and Steven Jamerson II.

With Perry it is going to be all about consistency. He has shown games that he can easily score 15 points. Then the next game come back and only score two or three. Being a top option off the bench there will need to be consistency. There is no room for error as the teams UCLA will play are very good. The more production you can get off of your bench, the better. Putting less stress on your starters to carry the entire offensive load.

Perry is very talented and the last two games he has scored 12 and 14 points. That is a good confidence booster heading back into Big Ten play. As that scoring will be needed. It is possible that Perry will see about 25 to 30 minutes a night. As his offense and defense is well coveted. He slides right into three guard sets when teams go small. Bumping Eric Dailey Jr. to the 4 and Tyler Bilodeau to the 5. If Perry finds consistency, he will be a very good player for this Bruins team.
