The Athletic has dropped their final WNBA mock draft ahead of the WNBA Draft on Monday. They have boosted Lauren Betts up from No. 4 now up to No. 2 going to the Minnesota Lynx. This comes on the heels of a dominating NCAA tournament run by Betts which ended in a UCLA national championship. Betts was the best player in the tournament and carried UCLA on offense and defense. Making big play after big play when her team needed her the most.

Betts has a two-way game and that is very rare in any level of basketball. She can carry a team on both ends of the floor and looks to be a cornerstone for many years to come for a team. If she were to go No. 2 to the Lynx, they know from day one they will get a dominating paint presence on defense. There have been people that question how her offensive game will translate to the WNBA. But she has shown she can beat one on ones and shoot the ball as well.

Betts senior season had its ups and downs. She started off very slow as she battled an elbow injury. But she showed why she is one of the best players in the country as she picked it up as the season went on. She ended her season as a First-team All-American while averaging 17.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. Which was down from her junior year, but she had so much other talent around her.

Betts finished her senior season as the all-time blocks leader in UCLA history. She will go down as one of the best players to ever don a UCLA uniform. Her winning a championship to end at all is the perfect ending. She will now wait to hear her name called on Monday night. But the expectations are it will be anywhere between No. 2 and No. 4. The Athletic seems to believe No. 2 and we agree with that as well!
