Skyy Clark is UCLA’s most efficient shooter. He is also a very good defender for the Bruins. He has been listed as questionable to play for the big Michigan matchup on Saturday. After being out for more than a month, the team could greatly benefit from his return to the court. The bench has really struggled since he has gone out. This is due to Trent Perry being inserted into the starting lineup, which has helped the starters, but also created a hole on the bench.

Perry is a very good player for the Bruins. Whenever they need a spark plug off of the bench, he has been able to provide it. But with him now in the starters, there isn’t much in terms of production from the second unit. It also creates a dilemma that Perry could stay in the starting lineup, even with Clark’s return, which would put the Bruins in a position to have to move someone to the bench. Possibly going small and moving Eric Dailey Jr. which could keep Tyler Bilodeau at the power forward spot.

Bilodeau plays his best basketball when he is not the center. So, it seems very unlikely that they would bench Xavier Booker and go really small. Bilodeau wastes a lot of his energy on the defensive end when he has to play the five spot. Dailey Jr. could kickstart his game again leading the second unit. A spark will be needed in some way as the Bruins starters are relied on way too heavily every game. Especially with this make-or-break stretch upcoming for the team.

Regardless of what decision is made. The team will be very happy to have Clark back if he can make it back tomorrow morning. He has a tremendous player for the Bruins and was having a breakout season before his injury. Both on offense and defense, he changes the game completely. If this team wants to make any sort of run, they will need him healthy. Because he can space the floor and then guard multiple positions on defense.
