Sienna Betts made her debut for the UCLA Bruins on Tuesday night against Cal Poly. She committed to UCLA for this season as the number two recruit in the country joining her sister Lauren Betts to help UCLA chase a national championship. She had been out with injury for the first 10 games of the season. With UCLA rolling, a lot of people forgot that she was still waiting in the wings. Cori Close now has another option that she can throw at teams. Betts similar to her sister can dominate on both ends of the floor.

Betts will be slowly worked in with the team. She played 10 minutes last night and was 1-1 from the field and had five points. She showed good chemistry with her sister on the floor. This UCLA team can run nine to 10 deep and beat a lot of teams even with their bench playing most of the game. It is a good problem to have. But when March comes around and there is less room for error. The rotation will shrink a little bit and the best seven to eight will get majority of the minutes. Betts figures to be in play off the bench with Angela Dugalić and Lena Bilić.

The Bruins are a very veteran team. Majority of their players that play big roles are seniors. This is the best chance they have ever had to win a championship. Sienna is part of the new wave that came in to hopefully continue that run if they can get it done this year. Lauren was a large reason in Sienna choosing UCLA as being with her sister and familiarity play a huge part in things. Lauren is expected to be a top pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
UCLA will play Long Beach State at home on Saturday. A game that the Bruins should be heavy favorites in. Giving Betts another chance in a less pressure situation to get comfortable. After that, they will get back to Big Ten play with quite a few ranked opponents left on the schedule. This is where we will see her get the opportunity to make a big impact. She will be a key piece for many years to come as she looks to take over the lead role after this season when the seniors graduate.
