Sammy Omosigho brings a ton of experience to this UCLA Bruins defense. He plays the linebacker position very well and is coming off a season where he helped Oklahoma go to the College Football Playoff. UCLA last season struggled to get to the quarterback. They were one of the worst teams in the nation at rush rate and being able to get sacks. Two very important parts in creating turnovers. That is something that they were not able to do and put them in tough positions.
BREAKING: Oklahoma transfer LB Sammy Omosigho has Committed to UCLA, his agent tells @On3Sports

He totaled 97 tackles, 4 PD, 2 sacks and 1 FF in his time with the Soonershttps://t.co/RlUbB6EMhS pic.twitter.com/HfCvfH2Gru
Omosigho can rush the quarterback well and will step right in as a starter. Providing Bob Chesney with a great piece to build around along with many other transfers. The main goal is getting to the quarterback and making life uncomfortable. Going a full season with only 10 sacks and four interceptions is not a recipe for success. Omosigho alone will change that by getting to the quarterback.
Oklahoma possesses a very good defense and has one of the best coaches in the nation in Brent Venables. So, we know Omosigho has been well coached and will bring that to this UCLA defense. One that looks to turn around a rough season from their 3-9 2025 season. The front seven is completely overturned for this team and will look to create more opportunities for turnovers on the back end.
Oklahoma LB Sammy Omosigho has the team's best PFF defensive grade (89.3).

Omosigho also leads the #Sooners with 14 tackles through three games.

Omosigho moves very fluid at 6’1 and 235 pounds and is very bulky. He will pair with two returning talented players in Jalen Woods and Donavyn Pellot at the linebacker position. Omosigho has 96 career tackles and 10 tackles for loss to go along with two sacks. UCLA does not possess the same defense that Oklahoma does so he should be able to have more of an impact. He will be a leader on this UCLA defense, and he can use his experience at Oklahoma to help lead this defense to a quick turnaround.
