Bob Chesney and UCLA enjoy making late night moves. As they made another last night. Landing former four-star recruit and one of the best linebackers of his recruiting class in Sammy Omosigho. Becoming the 39th overall transfer that UCLA has brought in. Completely changing the program and overhauling the roster. They have been the busiest team in the country in doing so. Often doing so when people may be asleep at night, especially those not on pacific standard time.

UCLA has done a tremendous job at fixing their defense through the transfer portal. After receiving commitment from star pass rusher Sahir West. The addition of Omosigho helps bolster the linebacking corps after losing Isaiah Chisom to Oklahoma State. The Bruins were also able to bring back rising linebacker in Scott Taylor. Do they expect to play a big role after not receiving many snaps as a freshman. The defense is in big need of generating pressure and turnovers, as well as limiting their high number of missed tackles.

Omosigho becomes the highest rated transfer that the Bruins have been able to bring in. He spent the last three seasons for the Oklahoma Sooners. Playing a large role on a team that made the College Football Playoff last season before their loss to Alabama. He had 50 total tackles, two sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss. In his three years in Norman he played in 37 games, with 96 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and two sacks. Coming from a tremendous defense that played under one of the most innovative defensive minds in college football in Brent Venables.

UCLA has made their point very clear this off-season. They are not trying to slowly rebuild this thing. They want to win now in the Big Ten. Now closing in on close to 40 transfers. They're set to have more than half their team be new recruits or transfers. Changing the dynamic and looking towards winning. They will have a good mixture of young guys and veterans. It is a fun time to be a Bruins fan, is it time for Spring practice yet?
