Ryan Sabol is a three-year guard from Buffalo that entered the transfer portal. He is a great shooter that can space the floor with some of the best of them. Last year he averaged 18.8 points per game which was second on the team. He made 122 3-point field goals and connected on 39.9% of his attempts on the season. That is spacing UCLA could definitely benefit from and allow driving lanes to open.

The 6-3 junior guard averaged 18.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 3.3 apg this season. He’s made 89 starts in his three-year career with the Bulls. pic.twitter.com/OPbHNuk0YK
UCLA was a good 3-point shooting team in 2025. The problem with their team as they did not shoot enough of them. When you’re a team that is top 25 in efficiency, you need to attack that strength. UCLA did not do that and will need to regroup before the 2026 season. If they can bring in a guy that specializes in it, they will be forced to tap into that potential. Especially if Trent Perry and Skyy Clark return.
Sabol is a guy that could slot right in and help the team with scoring. It does leave a little bit of a conundrum as point guard is a position of need. But if they really want to make a change. They can make Perry the main ball handler. He has the ability to do so, and his return would by far be the best news that UCLA could receive before the 2026 season begins.
Ryan Sabol has been an outstanding college player. It’ll be interesting to see whether he transfers for his final year of eligibility. He’s averaging 18.4 points per game, shooting 40% from three and an impressive 54.2% on top-of-the-key threes.

Sabol we have one year of eligibility left for whatever team he makes the jump to. This seems like a move that he wants to go to a bigger school for more recognition. That seems to be the path of a lot of players going from small schools to get more NBA scouts after them. Sabol is the perfect NBA type of player. They seek out players that are able to shoot the 3-point shot, because that has really become the name of the game. Sabol will get a look at a roster at the professional level for that ability.
