Projecting UCLA's Football rivals in the Big Ten
By Ryan Kay
UCLA football is not scheduled to play Washington State, Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, and Stanford in football in the near future. Some of their rivalries from the Pac-12 will carry over but the Bruins will have a new set of rivals in football as members of the Big Ten.
Look at their top five projected rivals in the Big Ten.
Going back to 1973, Nebraska has won seven of the last ten games in this rivalry. These two teams have played one another three times since 2012.
Going back to 1993, the Cornhuskers have won three of the last five games against UCLA. On paper, this emerging rivalry has been pretty even over the last five times they have played each other, but these two teams had an eight-year gap between the third and fourth times they played one another.
Nebraska has a one-game winning streak in this rivalry, having won the last game between these two universities when they participated in the Foster Farms Bowl in December of 2015.
Nebraska defeated UCLA on a neutral field by a final score of 37-29 at the last meeting between both institutions, and these two teams play one another this season.
Geographically speaking, Nebraska is the closest school to them from the Big Ten schools before the conference expanded to four new teams this season. Nebraska is hosting UCLA this season and in 2025, the Cornhuskers are going to play the Bruins on their home field.
This could be a good rivalry for UCLA, as they are one of the four new members of the Big Ten this season.
