The UCLA Bruins will head into their 23rd game of the season with a home matchup against Rutgers on Tuesday. The team is coming off a tough loss to Indiana on Saturday afternoon 98-97 on a last second free throw. One that was questioned by many in that situation. Ending a three game winning streak that the Bruins were on. The positive is UCLA continued to play great defense. Holding the Hoosiers to only 42% shooting on the day. They did give up 98 points, but you have to add in the factor of 10 extra minutes due to overtimes.

This is a game where UCLA will be the favorites in. As they look to get to 16-7 on the season and continue to make steps in the right direction. They are getting closer and closer to the heart of their schedule. Which will include three top 10 matchups in a seven-day span that will define their season and where they go in the Big Ten tournament seedings. Then as they make their push towards the March Madness tournament and where they may land.

Skyy Clark is getting closer to his return for UCLA. It will be a much-needed boost for the team on offense and defense. The Bruins have struggled to get any scoring from their bench. So it should make for an interesting decision on who moves to the bench when Clark returns to the starting lineup as Trent Perry has been possibly the best player for the Bruins the last 10 games he might have earned himself a full-time starting spot.

Rutgers is 9-13 on the season and they are really struggling with a five-game losing streak. The Bruins will have the perfect opportunity at a get right game. The Scarlet Knights only have two players that average and double digits. If you are able to contain their leading scorer Tariq Francis, you can cruise to victory. We expect the Bruins to do just that and move to 16-7 on the season and into their last tune up match with Washington before their big three game stretch.
