Landon Ellis similar to Wayne Knight was one of the big transfer portal additions for UCLA. Another James Madison transfer that figures to step right in and have a big role for the offense. Bob Chesney and his staff did a great job of going out and getting players that are going to re-energize this offense. Ellis gets to step right in as a starting receiver, already knowing the offense and able to hit the ground running.

Ellis was a dynamic receiver for James James Madison in 2025. Although he only had 36 catches last year. He made the most of them for 624 yards, which average is out to 17.3 yards per catch. That is an elite number and shows his ability to be able to stretch the field. He has good size at 6’2 and pairs that with good lengthy speed to get down the field. Being able to catch deep balls as well as jump balls.
The UCLA offense has struggled mightily over the last two years. It has been a reason they have gone 9-16 in that span and had to fire their head coach just 15 games into his tenure. Now with 41 new transfers coming in, including the entire offense being rebuilt. There is hope around this UCLA Bruins team that has not been seen in a long time. Ellis will have a big role as a senior, and we expect him to have a good season in his only year with the Bruins.

Nico Iamaleava will be very happy to have new guys on the outside in Ellis and Leland Smith. As both guys can get down the field and catch a ball at the highest point. The offense will have a much better season this year than it did the last two years. That will benefit everybody, including the players that are looking to boost their NFL Draft status. One of those is Ellis.
