Kymora Johnson could help fill some of the void Kiki Rice is leaving behind

UCLA is fresh off of a national championship win over South Carolina. With that being said, they now graduate out their top six players to the WNBA. They will need to be aggressive in the transfer portal to help replenish talent. As they are losing their entire starting lineup and first player off of the bench in Angela Dugalić. There is a ton of hypes surrounding UCLA with this championship win and they will be able to go out and get some good players.

One of those very talented players that just recently hit the portal is Kymora Johnson. She is a dynamic guard that can do it all on the offensive end. She is a veteran player that has played three seasons at Virginia. Averaging 17.6 points, 5.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game, while also averaging 1.9 steals per game on defense. She could go a long way in helping replace some of what is leaving.

UCLA won the championship, not only because of their really good offense. But because they had one of the best defenses ever. They shut down some of the best players in the nation and only gave up 44 points to Texas and 51 points to South Carolina in their last two games. Both of those high scoring octane offenses were scoring close to 90 points a game. Johnson has a defensive mentality that could absorb a bit of what Kiki Rice did.

The Bruins will be in a unique position. They haven’t had to worry about much of their roster other than portal transfers here and there. Now you need to go out and get at least five players. You have Sienna Betts and Lena Bilić to try and build around. But if you want to compete at the highest level, there needs to be a lot more that comes in. Johnson would be a huge addition if UCLA could land her.
