Gabriela Jaquez played a very consistent NCAA tournament as her normal all-around self. She helped the team on both ends of the floor and it all culminated in a 21 point effort in the national championship game. She ends her UCLA career with the championship and now heads off to the WNBA. She went from second round hopeful to possible top 10 pick. CBS Sports latest mock draft has her at No. 12 to the Connecticut Sun.

Jaquez is set to become the second professional basketball player in the family. Right after her brother Jaime Jaquez Jr. who also starred at UCLA for four years. Becoming a first round draft pick in 2023 to the Miami Heat. Gabriela should make an immediate impact for any team that drafts her. She can play both ends of the floor and is just a very smart basketball player.
Gabriela improved her game all four years that she was at UCLA. She developed a good outside shot and her defense came along better and better as she got older. She averaged 1.1 steals per game and was an excellent rebounder as a guard at 5.4 rebounds per game. Both of those categories will translate well to the WNBA as she takes her game to the next level, and she will work even harder to continue improving.
Gabriela will always be known as a UCLA legend. The Jaquez name runs deep in the UCLA halls as they had major impacts on the program. Gabriela has made one of the biggest ascents out of any college basketball player and it is a testament to her hard work. She has done everything that UCLA has asked of her and her game in improved in every area. Any WNBA team that gets her will be very lucky for the future.
