The Connecticut Sun are equipped with many former UCLA Bruins. One of them being a veteran in Kennedy Burke, who they expect to have an impact on the team this season. She has bounced around the WNBA with Connecticut now being her fifth team since joining the league in 2019. This coming after four seasons at UCLA where she had a productive career for the Bruins.
Saniya Rivers doing what she does best... a steal! Kennedy Burke hits a three, and then Aneesah Morrow gets the block on defense. Like what I am seeing from the Connecticut Sun! #WNBA pic.twitter.com/NTBfWudoJB

Burke played in 138 games for the Bruins from 2015-2019. Averaging 11 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. What was most impressive about her game was how good she was on defense. She is very versatile and what she does and averaged 1.7 steals over her four seasons. Her 237 career steals are tied for ninth in school history and her steal percentage of 3.4 ranks tenth in school history.
Burke in her WNBA career has played in 166 games and averaged 5.2 points per game. She did have her best showing of her career last season with the New York Liberty averaging 8.1 points per game. She looks to take her game to another level in 2026. As she will also have two more former Bruins by her side in new 2026 Draft picks Gianna Kneepkens and Charlisse Leger-Walker. Two players who will have some growing pains to open their career. But having a familiar face that they know went to UCLA, will help them a ton ease in.

We love seeing all the UCLA spirit on Connecticut and will definitely be watching them this upcoming season as proud fans. We hope to see all of the former alumni succeed for the organization. Burke had a very good showing in the win over Toronto tonight as she went 5-8 for 13 points and 3-5 from 3-point range. Very good start to her Connecticut career!
