Eric Dailey Jr. is making the leap to being a quality NBA prospect. Growing his game on offense by improving his shot selection and overall rounding his game out. A big part of that is due to moving back to his natural small forward position, allowing him the chance to operate in space more. Dailey Jr. can use his size on smaller guards or be quicker when he gets a mismatch on a center or power forward.

Dailey Jr. each year in his college journey has improved his shooting line. Seeing his numbers grow on field goal, 3-point and free throw percentage. This is seen in large part to looking for the best shot and not just settling for any look. He seems a lot more comfortable in year two in Mick Cronin’s system. Often looking like one of the best players on the floor since his return to the lineup from his knee injury.

Dailey Jr. has also improved on two important aspects which will help his future. Which are rebounding the ball and passing. As a forward, he has the chance to develop into the coveted role of point forward. Which is the ability to play the three but also handle the ball in leverage situations. The NBA has changed a lot, and we don’t see the traditional point guard as much in today’s game.

There is still a long way to go but Dailey Jr. is on the right track. He is a leader on this team and will be asked to carry the offense at times. If he can do that while also continuing to improve in other areas. He can quite possibly enter into NBA talks after this season. If not, he still has the opportunity to come back for one more season and get even better. Good situation to have.
