Kamari Ramsey recently declared for the 2026 NFL Draft after a strong season with the rival USC Trojans. Ramsey spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the UCLA Bruins before hitting the portal. Deciding on USC along with former Bruins defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn. Over two seasons with the Trojans he had 87 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions. He displays good versatility that can play safety and slot cornerback.

Ramsey didn’t play much in 2022 but got his opportunity in 2023 with the Bruins and played well. That year UCLA ranked 14th in points allowed per game and was their best defensive season in many years. Once Lynn decided to leave, multiple players were right behind him and it left the UCLA defense shredded. They also lost two leaders in Laiatu Latu and Darius Muasau to the NFL Draft. Two years down and the Bruins are still trying to fix their defense. Which we hope will happen under Bob Chesney.
Ramsey has good speed that he displays as he runs a 4.52 40-yard dash. He uses fluidity in his hips to play good coverage as well. Similar to former Bruin Quentin Lake who could play the safety position but has excelled in the NFL in the slot with the Los Angeles Rams. Ramsey can play man or zone and can move around on a defense, so a defensive coordinator at the next level will enjoy having him in a multitude of ways. As many NFL teams love having versatility, especially playing multiple positions and being able to help out on special teams so an extra roster spot is not needed.
#USC S Kamari Ramsey recently declared for the 2026 NFL draft. He shifted to nickel this season out of necessity, but he’s a safety that thrives playing on the roof of the defense.

Teams that need help at safety should have him circled on Day 2.pic.twitter.com/KuT8yhiubG
Transferring to USC helped him get more playing time and doing so in a good system. One that he was familiar with in Lynn. Ramsey will turn out to be a mid-round draft pick that has the ability to work his way up higher with a good combine. The former Bruin will be a good NFL player and will have two years of UCLA and two years of USC on his resume. Sounds weird to hear between the rivals.
