UCLA Football: Three things fans want to see for the SDSU game
By Ryan Kay
Here is a look at the three things that UCLA fans want to see in their game against San Diego State.
No. 3 UCLA defense does not commit an offsides penalty against San Diego State.
Even if the Bruins jump offsides multiple times against the Aztecs, it would have little bearing on the outcome of the game. However, the fans of UCLA want more discipline from their defense and would absolutely love to see zero or few penalties committed by the defense, especially no offside penalties called on the UCLA front seven.
No. 2 Dante Moore plays quarterback for 80% or more of the game.
Even if Ethan Garbers starts week two which appears like a real possibility, UCLA should still be able to score enough points to defeat San Diego State. However, many UCLA fans want to see not only Moore play the majority of the game, but to start and dominate on offense early for the Bruins. Moore is a true freshman and in many fans’ minds, he could be a three-year starter for UCLA and playing him now and him getting experience may have tremendous long-term effects for the Bruins moving forward.
No. 1 J. Michael Sturdivant to catch at least 8 passes against SDSU.
The Cal transfer lived up to the preseason hype with 136 yards receiving and a touchdown reception. One thing however that UCLA fans want to see is for him to have more catches and balls thrown to him. The Bruins did a great job of distributing the ball to seven different players through the air but the UCLA fan base would love to see Sturdivant catch more passes against the Aztecs.
