The Huskies have won five NCAA championships, in 1999, 2004, 2011, 2014, and 2023. They have also appeared in the Final Four six times and have won 10 Big East regular season championships.

UConn has had various legendary coaches over the years, including Hugh Greer, Fred Shabel, Jim Calhoun, and Dan Hurley. Some of the most famous players in UConn’s basketball history include Kemba Walker, Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton, and Khalid El-Amin.

The Huskies are known for their loyal, passionate, and devoted fans, who create a rambunctious atmosphere at home games. UConn also has a number of long-standing rivalries, including those with the Georgetown Hoyas, Seton Hall Pirates, and the Villanova Wildcats.

UConn’s home court is Gampel Pavilion, which is named after former coach Hugh Greer and it gives the Huskies a great home-court advantage. The Huskies’ fight song is “Connecticut, Our UConn Huskies,” which is sung at the beginning of every home game and is a great tradition. The Huskies fans are very devout in supporting UConn basketball and help them create an amazing home-court advantage for the Huskies.

UConn basketball has not been overly consistent but since 2011, they have had some great seasons. The Huskies program overall, has on paper been one of the most prosperous college basketball programs in the nation since the mid-90s. They will continue to be a contending program looking to capture more conference titles, Sweet Sixteen appearances, and even another national championship or two in the future to come.
