61. Will we see any more tweaks from Chip Kelly?

We saw some exciting formations and plays in Kelly’s first year, but will he stick with what he has got or will he add more tweaks to his system. For those that follow Kelly, you know the answers to this. Kelly is always evolving, and now that the team can execute his offense better than they did a year ago, he will bring more tweaks to the game plan. You have been warned.

62. With multiple running backs, could we see two-back sets?

Joshua Kelley is going to be the go-to running back next season, but what will become of the other six scholarship RBs next season? My guess is that Kelly will use more two-back sets. We saw a little bit of that early in 2018, but that was scrapped due to the inability to execute those properly. So now that the Bruins know what this offense consists of, I predict more two-back sets. It’s just another way to keep defenses guessing.

63. Austin Burton, making a case for the starting gig

Though DTR will lead the team in 2019, Burton is going to give him a run for his money. Though the redshirt sophomore has not seen time on the field, his production and the amount of time he spent leading the offense in spring tells us, at the very least, the Bruins have a reliable back up. Sure he will battle for the starting spot, but for now, it seems like he will support Thompson-Robinson.

64. Pin and pull making more than a cameo

UCLA used an interesting offensive line blocking technique last season, which got the better of a lot of defenses. The “pin and pull” alternates linemen between blocking and sweeping (see the video below). This had allowed the Bruins to deceive the defense and have the running back in the opposite direction that was being predicted. Though the Bruins got a lot of mileage out of it, are they going to use it more often? Or will Kelly come up with something new?

65. How effective can newbie WR Jaylen Erwin be?

Kelly has been known to pull recruits out of thin air. He did the same thing during the last National Signing Day when he brought in unknown Erwin. Well, he did not stay unknown long as he made quite the impression during spring and had a few highlights during the spring game. Is this indicative of more playing time for the receiver?
