As a Power 5 head coach, Chip Kelly has not faced any of these teams except for Fresno State. During his first and last season at Oregon, his Ducks beat up on the Bulldogs. But just like Kelly has a new gig with UCLA, Fresno State is the new gig for former California head coach Jeff Tedford.

That takes a interesting turn because even though Kelly is 1-0 against Fresno State, he is 4-0 against Tedford as a head coach and 0-2 as the Oregon offensive coordinator. So you could say Kelly has an advantage here. So as UCLA exits their non-conference schedule hopefully they can go 2-1. Why is that?

Early analysis of the UCLA-Cincinnati game heavily favors the Bruins to win. Kelly has never faced them or head coach Luke Fickell, so this will be a new situation for everybody.

This gets kicked up a notch in Week 2 when the Bruins travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners, another team and coach (Lincoln Riley) that Kelly has not seen before. The Sooners are coming off of a College Football Playoff appearance and UCLA is coming off a 6-7 season. If Kelly somehow does find a way to beat Riley and Co. with only one week of game planning, than UCLA is in for a big season.
