In this episode, host Jake Merrifield and I fly solo as our #3, Bill Shirley, is out on assignment. But fear not! We begin with a quick discussion about the Go Joe Bruin headlines. We wrap up signing day talking about GJB’s National Signing Day report card and analyze which players could see a lot of time on the field next season.
We then talk about the UCLA Women’s basketball team and how they are rolling through the conference, but have a difficult road ahead. We also get into Men’s basketball, but keep it short as we get deep into basketball talk with our guest.
Then it is the moment we have all been waiting for as Jon Wilner joins us on the What’s Bruin Hotline for a great discussion on National Signing Day, Pac-12 football and basketball and of course, UCLA.
We begin with recruiting information and get into Wilner’s thoughts about NSD. We survey what UCLA and the Pac-12 did on NSD and what it means for the Conference of Champions.
We then look at the landscape of Pac-12 football going forward as Wilner tells us who he thinks will win the North and the South in 2018. We then shift gears to talk about Pac-12 and UCLA basketball heading into March Madness and what might happen in the Big Dance.
We then finish up with some of Wilner’s insights on the state of the Pac-12, both as a conference and a network.
