The UCLA football team landed DE Elijah Wade, which not only adds to the recruiting class, but to the four commitments made just this week.
If anyone was worried that the roller coaster ride that is recruiting for the UCLA football team was going nowhere fast, might need to reconsider.

Four-star defensive back Elijah Wade (Arbor View/Las Vegas, NV) has just committed to the Bruins, the second one of the day and the fifth one this week. Simply, Chip Kelly is getting done.

Wade is the second player to commit on Sunday and the fifth in the last seven days, bringing the defensive line commit total to three and the overall total to 18.
Wade is quite the versatile edge rusher. At 6’5″, 240 lbs., he is a big player that came make things happen behind the line. He is quick enough to blow past blockers without a lot of engaging, and is powerful enough to drop ball carriers upon first contact.
His range of vision is impeccable as he can generally sniff out the direction a play is going. With Jerry Azzinaro running a 3-4 scheme, he is going to need guys on the edge that can get into the backfield in a hurry and Wade has the tools to make that happen.
With this commitment, UCLA has inched up one spot to #18 in the 247Sports recruiting class rankings, just behind behind #11 USC, #13 Washington and #15 Oregon.

With National Signing Day less than two weeks away (February 7) the Bruins are building quite the solid class. Kelly and his crew are still looking to get a few more players over to Westwood. As it looks, this is turning into quite the inaugural class for the new Bruin coach.
