UCLA Football Recruiting: 3-star Kazmeir Allen commits to the Bruins
The UCLA football team received its first commitment of the Chip Kelly era as 3-star running back Kazmeir Allen has committed to the Bruins.
The Chip Kelly era of UCLA football started two days ago and the Bruins already have a commitment. This morning 2018 3-star RB Kazmeir Allen (Tulare Union HS/Tulare, CA) has committed to the Bruins.

Recruiting was expected to pick up with Kelly, but this came at lightning speed, which is probably what we are going to see with Kelly’s offense. It’s fitting that a speedster like Allen was the first to commit to Kelly and UCLA.

The 5’ 10”, 185 lbs. running back can run. If Allen gets into the open field, he will be hard to stop. He is also quite elusive as he can turn in an instant and will find ways to get around his defenders that face him up.
With his size, he seems built for running around the edges, but that does not stop him from running up the gut as he is quite fearless when the ball is in his hands. Though he will need to bulk up if he wants to do that at the next level, Allen has the tools that could make him a very effective weapon in Kelly’s offense.
Allen is also familiar with running the ball on kick returns, which could give UCLA another option on special teams, an area where the Bruins have been suffering the last few years.
Allen is the third RB to commit to UCLA as they also have AJ Carter and Lentivone Lesane (both 3-star rated) and the 18th overall player to commit to the Bruins.
